The age old question of self discovery—WHO AM I?
Who am I? I am a son of Light. Who are you? Well, that depends…Are you born anew by the Word of Truth that is ever living and in whom is Light? If you are, then you too are a son of Light. And if you are a son of Light and all things reproduce after their kind, then you too are light. Awesome realities!
James 1:17-18 KJV
(17) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
(18) Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Eph 5:8 KJV
(8) For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
Once upon a time, we were darkness. Notice the construction in Eph 5:8. We did not have darkness in us. Rather we were darkness. Our spirit was darkness because sin had put out the light of God owing to Adam and Eve having eaten of disobedience to God’s will. Our spirit is the candle or lamp of the Lord. It can be light or darkness depending on whether we are born again or not.
It is one thing to live in the awareness of this reality and hence enjoy the benefits that awareness brings BUT it is also a different thing to live in ignorance of this truth and hence live far below what God has intended.
So we are light. What then is the purpose for light? What is the reson for your being?
