I have been a bit absent from the blog for some time now because I’ve truthfully been striving to keep up with the blessing of God on my life. Its like God is chasing me down with His love. I am truly grateful to have a Father such as God, the heavenly Father and Father of all lights and spirits. He is truly amazing and awesome.
What a privilege it is to be called sons of God. Apostle John says it like this:
1Jn 3:1 KJV
(1) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
The Amplified version quotes the same verse as follows:
1Jn 3:1 AMP
(1) SEE WHAT [an incredible] quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! The reason that the world does not know (recognize, acknowledge) us is that it does not know (recognize, acknowledge) Him.
What an awesome verse this is. Sadly, it can sometimes be taken for granted. The Father has given, shown, bestowed on everyone that accepts His grace of salvation through Jesus Christ, the gift of being permitted to be named and called and counted as HIS very own children. AWESOM!!! Once we were dead in the old life of mediocrity, sin and death but now His mercy has caused us to be made alive in Him. What an awesome God! And the best is that we have done nothing to deserve such love, grace and mercy.
He just gives out of the abundance of His nature which is love. God does not possess love. He is love. The most natural thing for God to do is love. It is His default disposition.
God bless His will for your life as you have read this blog. Have a beautiful, God-vitalized week full of His love and beauty. Be energized by the King of wonders to live for Him.
Now for today’s blog post…
The title of this blog is ‘the exact knowledge of the truth‘. We live in a world that has come to view truth as something that cannot be accurately discerned. Some even believe truth to be relative and according to the experience of humanity. We base this wrong assertion on the fallibility of humanity and the inability of humanity to fully apprehend truth. So I realize that the title of the blog alone can put some people off—raise bells in people’s minds. I thought we would consult the word of God to see if anyone can know the exact truth. Is there even such a thing?
Let’s consult the following verses:

Paul desires his readers to walk For his readers to live such a life, it is logical that they understand the will of God for their lives and the situations that confront them in their daily walk with God. Put differently, If we have the exact knowledge of God’s will for every circumstance we face, then we can live in a way that pleases Him. Knowing His will means we can live it.
Let us first consider verse 9. The word knowledge used here has a reference number G1922 attached to it which can help us locate the original word used by the original author of this letter to the saints in the city of Colosse.
The word used by Paul for knowledge in the passage under inspection is Epignosis.
Thayer’s Greek Definitions defines epignosis as precise and correct knowledge. It is used in the NT of the knowledge of things ethical and divine. Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Dictionary defines it as recognition, that is, (by implication) full discernment, acknowledgement.
It is therefore no wonder that the Amplified Bible states the verse as follows:
Col 1:9 AMP
(9) For this reason we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and make [special] request for you, [asking] that you may be filled with the full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things–
Paul is saying for us to live a life worthy of the Lord, pleasing him and being fruitful in His plan for our lives, we need the exact, full, precise, deep, clear and unadulterated knowledge of the truth. This is not just mental comprehension. Epignosis is divine exact knowledge. It has its source in God.
If it were not possible to receive such knowledge this passage will not be in the scriptures and it would not have been Paul’s prayer for his disciples to live like this. It is very possible when once we take our eyes off our limitations as descendants of the first Adam and see ourselves as descendants of the last Adam who have been given the Spirit of God to lead us into ALL truth. It is only by the knowledge of the truth that liberty comes to us. We shall know the truth and the truth shall set us free.
