SPIRITUAL GATES

Greetings in Jesus’ awesome name! The subject of Gates occupied the last two posts. These were  What is a GATE? excerpted from the seminal book, ‘Praying through the Gates of Time’ and The Antidote to the Gates of Hell. Today, I’d like to share how this revelation can be made practical in a nation setting.

The principal scripture for this study is:

Eze 21:21-23 GNB

(21) The king of Babylonia stands by the signpost at the fork of the road. To discover which way to go, he shakes the arrows; he consults his idols; he examines the liver of a sacrificed animal.

(22) Now! His right hand holds the arrow marked ‘Jerusalem’! It tells him to go and set up battering rams, to shout the battle cry, to place battering rams against the gates, to throw up earthworks, and to dig trenches.

(23) The people of Jerusalem won’t believe this because of the treaties they have made. But this prediction is to remind them of their sins and to warn them that they will be captured.

(21) For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.

The King of Babylon wanted to attack and capture Jerusalem but instead of starting with a physical  assault,  he first attacked spiritually at a junction before attacking them physically. To initiate the spiritual attack, this King went to the HEAD of the streets. Notice, just as Jesus has a head  (1Cor 11:3) and the body of Christ has a head (Eph 5), a wife has a head, so do streets have a head.

The head of a street is the junction or roundabout. Heads are gates. The juction where he stood represented a gate. A junction is the gate through which two or more streets, footpaths, air paths cross.

In the developing world, where traditional worship and idolatry in the traditional sense is still rife, it is not uncommon for people to place sacrifices at junctions as per the instructions of fetish priests. The reason for this is the same reason why the King of Babylon chose a junction for transacting spiritual business with the evil being(s) through divination to capture Jerusalem. Notice a whole nation was captured at a junction. This included all its inhabitants.

There is nothing new under the sun. Unregenerate man has not changed and still seeks power over his/her fellow man. Unfortunately the sphere of government and governance has been abandoned by many believers and the sons of this world with knowledge from their father have gladly taken this sphere and dictate much of what transpires in them including the architecture and the town planning of nations. Take a look at the picture at the top of this post. Each picture has an obelisk at a junction. I surmise that this is not just for decoration. For the meaning of obelisks, see the previous post.

In places where freemasonry and other cults thrive, those with knowledge have placed obelisks (Asherah poles) at the gates—(heads of gates, roundabouts etc.). At first sight, these Asherah poles may seem only decorative pieces but many times, they are dual purposed—for decoration and for occulted purposes—such as was done by the King of Babylon. If it were today, we’d be talking about the President of Babylon divining at the gates to capture another country and its people.

Examples of other Gates at Junctions

Below are some other examples of types of gates situated at junctions. The examples shown below are from Germany, France and Ghana.

Each structure has interesting details. The Germans have the Quadriga with a winged supernatural being in a Chariot on top of the Brandenburger Tor  or gate situated between East and West Germany. Tor is German language for gate. On the surface of France’s Arc de Triomphe, also situated at a major junction, are winged supernatural beings hovering over humans. On top of Ghana’s Independence Black Star Monument or Black Star Gate are 4 black stars facing each of the 4 directions.

Each of these in Germany, France and Ghana are situated at major national junctions near major government buildings.

These are beautiful pieces of art but what do they stand for? And what is my duty as a citizen of any of these nations with regards to taking responsibility for my nation? Stand up and be counted as part of GOD’s ekklēsia. More about that in the previous post.

Caution: Gates of Hell do exist but believers have a promise from GOD.It says:

Mat 16:18

(18) And I tell you, you are Peter [Greek, Petros–a large piece of rock], and on this rock [Greek, petra–a huge rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church [ekklēsia], and the gates of Hades (the powers of the infernal region) shall not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out against it].

Believers in Christ should not be subject to evil gates if they are part of GOD’s ekklēsia because GOD’s ekklēsia is HIS own Gate against whom the gates of hell cannot prevail. So the information shared is not to frighten but rather to shed light on one type of gates.

Connecting Gates and Altars

Spiritual gates are points of entry or exit for spirit beings. People sacrifice at gates because they know spirits use gates/portal to enter or exit the physical realm.  When a sacrifice transpires at a place, that place becomes the altar upon which that blood is shed. GOD in heaven has His Golden altar. The sacrifice itself represents an agreement or covenant with a deity so with the Eze 21:21-23 example, three things that happened at the junction—covenant, altar and gate. These three form the foundation stones of any throne. In the case of the King of Babylon, he laid the foundation for an evil throne that was to fight against Jerusalem. GOD Almighty permitted this to happen because of the sin of his people.
